Nobody likes pimples. But sometimes it's a little too expensive to buy all those acne treatment packages that don't even work. Here's a cheap, effective way to zap away those pimples. And the best part is, it only takes a couple of hours to disappear.

Steps

  1. Try and pop the pimple. If it's full of pus, the trick won't work. Make sure you emptied it as much as you can before you start.
  2. Buy a bottle of the original Listerine Antiseptic. It comes in a big, bottle and has a brownish color to it. The best part is that it's usually under $5!
  3. Dab a little bit of Listerine onto a cotton swab and rub it over the problematic area.
  4. Hold it to the skin for about 2 minutes. After this, remove it and let it air dry. Don't touch it! This will add germs to the Listerine and it won't work as well.
  5. If it doesn't work after an hour, try it again. But be careful! You don't want to do it too much because it will dry out your skin.

Alternate Method

  1. As stated above, pop the zit first. You can find dozens of articles here that can explain how to safely pop a pimple.
  2. Dip a cotton swab (Q-tip) in hydrogen peroxide and apply it to the pimple(s). It will sting, but that just means it is working.
  3. Let it dry, and apply more hydrogen peroxide. This will most likely dry out your skin and make it itchy, but try not to touch it!
  4. Repeat the hydrogen peroxide process as many times as possible, but at least 5 times.
  5. Before you go to bed, apply triple antibiotic ointment (Neosporin) to the pimple(s) and wake up to clear (or better) skin!

Tips

  • You can also use a cotton ball or a towel, as long as its clean.
  • Make sure that the cloth is about to drip before you put it on your face. This will ensure that enough mouthwash gets on your pimple.
  • For the hydrogen peroxide method, you can find all those items at a dollar store. You most likely already have them in your house though.

Warnings

  • For the hydrogen peroxide method, be very careful NOT to get it in your eyes!
  • If applied often enough, hydrogen peroxide can lighten/bleach hair, so be careful.

  • Listerine or other antiseptic mouthwash
  • Cotton balls, cotton swabs, or a clean cloth
